"I saw HIM!" - Live from our Shelter in Mongolia

Our friends do appreciate our place.
It’s not only the good meals and first aid in the HELP-Mongolia Shelter- a warm and cozy place to stay overnight.
Apart from that people are feeling accepted and encouraged
– be it by one of the co workers or through a short message after supper.

These words don’t come back empty! It was proven to us by
someone who got stranded in the streets after he served a
10 year’s prison sentence.
There he soon became a “boss”.

He had been staying overnight at our place for several times. At
these occasions he had been talking to one of our staff about his
life and about Christian faith.
When he found himself again sleeping in a doorway, all of a
sudden there was a light and he saw the face of a guy,
who seemed to be a Russian to him.

“ Now I‘m getting nuts!” he said to his companion ,
who saw nothing.
The eyes of the stranger were fixed firmly but loving on our friend.
Suddenly it dawned on him: “He must be that Jesus I heard about!”
From that hour on his life changed drastically. He had a shot at
this faith in Jesus and stopped drinking, came off the streets and is
looking after his sickly mother now. He eagerly reads the bible now
and is spiritually hungry.
Of course his life needs many more changes. But he is exited
about the new dimension he is experiencing.
We trust, that God will guide him faithfully.
It would be great, if he would end up in our newly
opened rehab for ex-alcohol addicts.
That would be a good place to be for most of our
guests anyway.
In the streets and the heating shafts of the Mongolian
capital Ulan Bataar there are living around 12 000 men.
Most of them are alcoholics!
We want to go on fighting for a change and are grateful
for any kind of support.
